Tour of Brechfa Forest Wind Farm – Sponsored by Innogy
Brechfa Forest West Wind Farm is a 57.4MW project that can generate enough renewable energy to meet the equivalent needs of approximately 38,800 average Welsh homes. The wind Farm is located within the forest which is part of the Welsh Government Woodland Estate and managed by Natural Resources Wales.
Due to its size, the visit will take place via minibus with opportunity to stop at key infrastructure and talk through the development, construction and operational activities of the wind farm. The bus will depart from Windy Corner Garage, Pencader, SA39 9HP at 9.30am, Thursday 13th June. Parking is available at Wind Corner Garage and all participants are asked to be at the collection site at 9.15am
Please wear sensible footwear and especially refrain from wearing heels or sandals. The surface is uneven in sections and walking boots are recommended or trainers are permissible. Warm clothing is also advised as we will be quite high up so it can become cold event on a warm day.
Please be aware that if there is a forecast of lightning on the day the event will be called off but we will endeavour to advise of this the day before.
Guests will be transported back to Windy Corner Garage to collect their cars after the tour.
