The Heathrow Regional Business Summit was held on 5 July 2017
Six Regional Business Summits are being held across the UK, to appeal to more small British firms and give an insight into Heathrow’s major suppliers to open the door of opportunity to win new contracts in the future.
- The Heathrow Business Summits each provide a great platform for SMEs to get a foot in the door and capitalise on the business opportunities available at Heathrow.
- Promote your business to Heathrow’s supply chain through face-to-face appointments on the day.
- Meet and network with exhibitor partners including the Local Councils and Chambers of Commerce.
- All exhibitors actively support and guide businesses on how to connect and build trade relations into new supply chains at Heathrow.
South Wales Chamber of Commerce was there in the heart of the summit. With Heathrow looking for firms which can sustain ongoing contracts in construction, ICT, Manufacturing, Finance, Consulting Engineers and office activities, we want our members involved in this exciting project.
South Wales Chamber of Commerce member, Caldicot-based Pro Steel Engineering is already working with the airport. Richard Selby, director of Pro Steel Engineering said,
“I’m proud to have led a Welsh business which successfully competed against much bigger firms located in south east England.
We were successful in securing the work to fabricate a steel bridge linking a new Premier Inn hotel to the existing bridge network and on to Heathrow Terminal 4. Securing this work has broadened our market reach and helped to introduce us to the wider team at Heathrow.
Not only is there current demand for ongoing works at Heathrow, but with the £16 billion Heathrow Expansion plans there are additional opportunities for Welsh businesses on the back of a major project, similarly to how we benefited from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park”
