The fundraising activities undertaken by the South Wales Chamber of Commerce last year raised a fantastic £1820.10 for Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales, our Charity of the Year 2017-18.
The Bobath Centre is a specialist treatment and training centre dedicated to supporting children and families living with cerebral palsy and similar neurological conditions.
As well as providing therapy and treatment packages to meet the needs of their patients, the charity also delivers a series of courses to prepare families for life with a child living with cerebral palsy.
Heather Myers, Director of the South and Mid Wales Chamber said:
“As a Chamber we were so pleased to work over the last year to support Bobath. This charity was founded by parents, for parents with the drive and passion to improve the quality of life of children with cerebral palsy, and this ethos of child centered therapy remains so visible today. There are 1800 children in Wales with cerebral palsy and the difference that Bobath makes, by their highly specialised treatment, is world renowned: And it is right here in Wales. Bobath practices and learning are ground breaking and they are used across the world as exemplar of how to support children with cerebral palsy. I along with all the chamber Team are so proud to have been able to do our bit, working with the amazing businesses who are Chamber members to support this wonderful Welsh charity.”
The charity’s Welsh operations offers support for over 600 children living with cerebral palsy and associated conditions in Wales, it is a pleasure to have been able to help support the vital services that they deliver over the past 12 months.
