My past few weeks at the South Wales Chamber of Commerce as a Marketing Intern have been incredibly rewarding. I have been using new programmes and software’s, establishing new skills whilst expanding my current knowledge in a variety of areas.
I have been spending much of my time working on the marketing for the South Wales Business Awards 2017. This has involved multiple social media campaigns and posts on the website about the finalists and sponsors of the event. Along with this I have also been set tasks to collect and organise the logos into the award categories and write the promotional material on the finalists.
When not working on the Welsh Business Awards I have been focused on updates to the website. I have completed numerous tasks including posting about upcoming events and completing updates to the “Our Members” section on the website.
Alongside completing tasks, I have also been given the opportunity to expand my knowledge of programmes such as Adobe InDesign. Being able to use this software will allow me to create and design promotional materials and circulate interactive publications.
On a daily basis I am posting and scheduling social media campaigns on a variety of topics. I have been using the Hootsuite site to simultaneously timetable my posts across a variety of social media sites, and have used the .csv formatting tool to bulk schedule tweets for the Welsh Business Awards and advertise vacancies within the South Wales Chamber properties.
Overall, I have highly enjoyed my experience at the South Wales Chamber of Commerce and am looking forward to expanding on what I have learnt over the coming weeks.
