As we countdown to the entry deadline of the Welsh Business Awards 2016, every few weeks we’re going to profile one of the winners from last year’s awards.
First up, it’s jamjar PR, winners of the Excellence in Marketing & Communications category.
Don’t forget to head over to our awards website, where entries are now open.
Company name: jamjar PR
Company overview: jamjar PR is a creative communications agency specialising in PR, marketing and digital.
We help organisations communicate to their chosen audiences in a creatively engaging way. We lift the lid to understand what you want to achieve, what you want to say and who you want to say it to and then develop communications strategies to help spread the word.
Our jam jar is packed full of a number of different communication ingredients including media relations, training, events, social media, digital communications, newsletters, awards, experiential marketing and videos, which we use to help our clients get noticed, help tell their story, influence their target audiences’ behaviours and help get them the attention they deserve.
Award won: Excellence in Marketing & Communications
Judges comment: This was a closely fought category but the judges felt the Pedalcover campaign was exemplary in its planning, execution and results. Taking a niche product, jamjar PR identified the particular marketing methods that would resonate with its target audience. Whilst the judges accept that Pedalcover themselves were a key driver in this strategy, jamjar PR worked at one with their customer to produce and deliver an innovative, fully costed diverse, yet coherent marketing plan that over delivered for their client.
What has been the impact of winning a Welsh Business Award on your business?
As a relatively new communications agency, we have worked hard to stand out in a competitive marketplace where many of our competitors in Wales have been established for years.
This award recognised our creative approach to the Pedalcover campaign, but also our ability to contribute to the communications landscape in Wales; we were thrilled to receive it.
The impact of winning the award has been huge. When we are competing for new work it has added extra gravitas to our credentials, it has boosted staff morale, it has reassured longstanding clients that we’re at the top of our game and has gained us valuable publicity.
Why would you encourage other businesses to enter?
The South Wales Chamber of Commerce’s Welsh Business Awards are one of the most credible and widely respected awards schemes in Wales and to win, or even be shortlisted, demonstrates that your business is at the top of its game.
It isn’t always easy to recognise and celebrate all the positive aspects of your business – putting together an awards entry makes you do just that. You have to put your modest to one side and shout out loud about what you are good at.
